New Theology Webzine Celebrates National Day of Prayer with Giveaway
New theology and culture online magazine and website Theology Mix took part in the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 7, with their Power of Prayer Giveaway, coinciding with contributing author Dr. John I. Snyder’s prayer broadcast with Focus on the Family. The broadcast can been heard on Focus on the Family Radio and online at focusonthefamily.com/radio. Dr. Snyder is an author, pastor, and international church planter.
The Power of Prayer giveaway Grand Prize includes books from Harper Collins, featuring Snyder’s book Your 100 Day Prayer: The Transforming Power of Actively Waiting on God from Thomas Nelson, as well as gift cards for Macy’s ($100) and Starbucks ($25). The announcement for the winner will take place Mother’s Day weekend.
Theology Mix is a collaboration of 40+ writers, pastors, evangelists, and artists from the Christian community, both mainstream and independent, with an average of half a million hits a month. With authors from a multitude of backgrounds, from Lutheran to Baptist to Catholic to Pentecostal, the site discusses Biblical Interpretation, Apologetics, and the relevance of Christianity in culture, as well as history, art, science, and sports.
“The response to Theology Mix has been enthusiastic and encouraging,” said Shirin Milton, co-founder and General Editor of Theology Mix. “We wanted to hear from people from all walks of life, holding different theological opinions, and create a place to share ideas and hold respectful dialogue. From the feedback we’ve received so far, it’s clear now that people are looking for that on the Internet and we are filling a need.”
Milton co-founded the site with Sarah Snyder and Stephanie Snyder, who were joined by other personalities including Dr. John I. Snyder, Blog Talk Radio Host Scott McCausey, and pastors Jeremy Lundmark, author of The Fury of God, online evangelist Chris Linzey, and LEO Sam King.
The website explores issues that Christians face in many areas of mainstream culture, providing insights into faith-based leadership, church planting in a changing religious climate, and the increasingly neglected area of Apologetics.
“Since more people are turning to the Internet to find answers to their life questions, this is a joint effort of writers who are passionate about communicating the light of Christ to the online community,” says Dr. Snyder. “There is a strong element of Apologetics, Spiritual Growth, and Biblical Interpretation on the site, which is becoming more and more scarce these days.”
Other authors include former NFL quarterback Tim Hiller, Amazon bestselling author Carol Howell, Col. Carl Lammers, an apologist who deals with Islam, renowned church planter Dr. H. Stanley Wood, psychiatrist Dr. Ryan Fraser, and many others from a variety of fields—ministry and evangelism, entertainment, business, education, military, and more.
